Flavour Profile: Made by The Home Farmer, this is a simple cheese with a classic flavour. The milk for this cheese travels a whole 5 meters from the milking parlour and processing room which is next door! The flavour is as traditional and wholesome as how it’s made – creamy, bold, smooth and crumbly… What more could you want from a Dale Cheese?
Drink Pairing: This cheese was made perfectly for a Sauvignon Blanc… we particularly enjoy it with Domaine Daunley Sancerre.
About the Maker: The Home Farmer is a small family dairy farm, run by two brothers Ben and Adam Spence, along with their parents David and Susan plus Ben’s wife Sam. In 2016, The Home Farm decided to take a leap and began to sell milk and cheese direct from the gate of the farm to its locals. Since then, they have rebuilt their farm and are now selling their cheeses to artisan cheese mongers (like us!). The Home Farmer takes pride in looking after their cows, who they call their ladies, making sure they are happy, healthy and comfortable.
How to Enjoy: On a cracker with some fig chutney!! Old Roan goes beautifully with anything fruity! It is also a fantastic cooking cheese!!
