Tasting Notes: Verdiso is a very old variety, revived in recent decades for still wines and some Prosecco and this is a great example of that! This charming, unusual expression of the Verdiso grape, used on its own, creates a refreshingly dry, expressive wine with crisp apple/pear fruit and just a touch of lively effervescence: a very distinctive apéritif.
Wine Making Notes: Verdiso, 11.5% ABV, from Veneto, Italy
Food Pairing: This wine is just stunning. Pair it with light seafood dishes such as a seafood linguine or sea bass. For cheese pairings, keep it Italian, try it with Robiola or Pecorino Dolce. If you want to have a few more options then it also goes great with Wigmore or Baron Bigod.
About the Winemaker: ‘The Collalto family have owned vineyards since the 10th Century with the current cellars built in 1904. The estate in the Susegana hills, with 150ha of vines some up to 50 years old, is now in the hands of Principessa Issabella Collalto de Cröy and renowned for its rich, elegant Prosecco Superiore wines.’
