The gorse collected from Whitby’s famous moors gives this gin nutty notes and the scent of vanilla. It’s balanced with gooseberry and a hint of fruitiness, with a little honey that really boosts the sweet botanical flavour.
Recommended food pairings
We think classic gins pair well with both hard and soft cheeses. Our choices are a creamy, buttery cheese, like Waterloo, or a cheese produced from Whitby Gin’s home county such as the mature, strong Yorkshire Pecorino Fiore.
How to serve
A classic gin like this tastes perfect on the rocks. A glass full of chunky ice, 50ml of Whitby Gin – Wild Old Tom, and a slice of lemon is all you need for the perfect tipple.
To boost the citrus taste, add a flavoured tonic, such as Lemon Fever-Tree, and top off with a little fresh mint alongside your lemon slice.
About the distillery
After a camping trip to the Outer Hebrides, Whitby Gin’s owners swapped their desks for a distillery to create quality gins that celebrate the North Yorkshire Moors. Signature botanical flavours mark the now award-winning gins that are distilled in ‘Dora-Grace’: a 300L Copper Still.
