Soft Cheese
Soft cheese, mmmm gooey, rich and decadent. What's not to love? Leave a proper Brie out for a couple of hours and it should walk right off the board in our opinion. But our selection is more than just the infamous French Bries, we've got Yorkshire and Italian soft cheeses in our range as well. As well as more obscure goats' milk and ewes' milk varieties too... Go ahead and explore the full range of soft cheeses below. Please let us know if you have any questions about our cheese selections and we'll be more than happy to assist you.
Taleggio Soft Cheese
Taleggio is a soft Italian cow’s milk cheese with a pungent aroma, a fruity, mild flavour and a slight tang. Its smooth centre makes it a delicious melting cheese for pasta and pesto toasties, or you can serve it with autumnal fruits.

Tetilla
This creamy, smooth cheese comes from the Galicia region of Spain and in Galician, tetilla means "small breast". That's right, this is the breast-shaped cheese! It comes with a bitter, buttery flavour with a slight tang to it.

Torta de Barros Cheese
There is a tradition in Spain of making ewes' milk cheeses using cardoon thistle rennet. This leads to the cheese age from the inside out, making the middle really unctuous and oozy and resulting in a full flavour. We love this cheese - it's entirely delicious!
£10.40
Waterloo Cheese
The Napoleonic British brie. Exquisitely buttery. Waterloo has a creamy, firm texture and the ultimate buttery finish. The washed curd method they use makes the cheese less acidic with a gentle buttery flavour. Village Maid’s herd of pedigree Guernsey cows are responsible for the distinct yellow colour and the sweet and smooth taste. Waterloo is buttery, creamy goodness with a hint of earthiness from the rind.

Wigmore Cheese
A sophisticated, soft cheese full of vibrate flavours and great texture. Expect a complex, floral and sweet palette that will leave you wanting a little more each time. Indulgent, yet delicate Wigmore comes from Village Maid and is made using traditional methods for hand-washed, curd cheese. It's a gentle cheese but powerful in its own right and we can't get enough of it!

About Soft Cheese
What is soft cheese?
Soft cheese is a type of cheese that is typically un-aged and has a high moisture content. Examples include Brie, Camembert, and Chèvre — a classic goat's milk cheese.
How should I store soft cheese?
Soft cheese should be stored in the refrigerator, ideally at a temperature between 3 - 5°C. It should be wrapped tightly in plastic wrap or wax paper to prevent it from drying out or absorbing odours from other foods in the refrigerator.
How long does soft cheese last?
The shelf life of soft cheese can vary depending on the type and how it is stored. Generally, soft cheese will last for 2-4 weeks when stored properly in the refrigerator. It's best to check the expiration date or "best by" date on the package for a more specific timeframe.
Can I freeze soft cheese?
It is generally not recommended to freeze soft cheese because the texture can become grainy or crumbly after thawing. If you must freeze it, wrap it tightly in plastic wrap and place it in an airtight container or freezer bag. Use within 2-3 months.
Can soft cheese be served at room temperature?
Yes, soft cheese is best served at room temperature, as it will have a more complex flavour and a softer texture. Take it out of the refrigerator at least 30 minutes before serving and enjoy alongside some chutney and crackers for the full experience.
