5 cheeses perfectly selected from sunny Spain! In this cheese selection you will be getting; Torta de Barros, Mahon, Murcia al Vino, Manchego and La Peral.
Let’s talk about the cheeses:
First, we have the amazing Tetila. This creamy, smooth cheese comes from the Galicia region of Spain. Yellowish ivory in colour Tetilla has a creamy mouthfeel with a buttery, slightly bitter and tangy flavours surrounding the palate.
Following on from there, we have Mahon. This dense, crumbly cheese comes straight from Menorca. It has a buttery and fruity flavour with a distinctive sweet, yet comes with a rather nutty aroma.
Next we have a cheese that is quite the talking point, Murcia al Vino, which translates to “Drunken Goat”. This goat’s cheese has been soaked in red wine, giving it its name and its distinctly purple rind. Expect soft, fruity and delicate flavours from this semi firm cheese with a creamy and smooth texture.
We then have Manchego, Spain’s most famous cheese. This fruity, sweet ewe’s milk cheese will have your mouth watering. It is a hard, brittle cheese with a surprising moisture. The flavour yields a grassy, tangy after-note.
And finally, La Peral! A creamy, salty blue cheese with a lovely granular texture. While this is a distinctly blue cheese, it’s not too acidic despite the strong flavour.
