The nettles that cover the cheese are hand picked and completely edible! There is a team of nettlers who apply the leaves in elegant circles once the cheese has been removed from its natural rind. This cheese is constantly winning top awards and if you’re ordering this one, you’ll soon see why.
This is a light, crumbly and zesty cheese with a farmyard feel towards the edges. The flavours are accessible and pleasant – a definite crowd pleaser!.Drink Pairing
Goes unbelievably with a fruity white wine. Why not try our Laurel Vines Madeleine Angvine?
About the Maker
Cornish Yarg is made by Lynher Dairies Cheese Company. The original cheesemaker, however, is Alan Gray who reportedly found the 17th century recipe in his attic and started producing this artisan classic. The name Yarg is quite literally Gray backwards and he passed the recipe over to the local farm in 1984.
